Fall Sale Updates...

Don’t forget that the Fall 2010 sale date has been set for September 11th.

Interested sellers have until August 30, 2010 to register for the sale

Current members may shop at 8:30 am. We WILL NOT be renewing any memberships at the Fall Sale. Any members who have let their membership lapse will be expected to shop with the general public at 10:00 am.

The Book Corner

We would like to ask for book and media donations from MoMs who don’t need them anymore. We would definitely appreciate it, and let’s admit it, it’s always nice to pass on extra stuff that we no longer need to a good cause. Please support your fellow MoMs and donate to this cause! Book Stack

May Letter From the President

Dear Members: Woman behind computer

As the days grow warmer, our twins are enjoying more time outside. They love exploring the outdoors and all the nature it provides. They can look at a flower, one that I pass by unnoticed every day, and see amazing and wonderful things about it. It does not escape their attention how colorful all the pretty flowers are. If there is a bug nearby, they are quick to tell me how yucky it is. If they know what it is, they are more than happy to they tell me. I must be constantly looking all around with fresh eyes to try to see everything as they do. Much like a sponge, they soak up everything around them. Then at the end of the day, it gives them (and me!) great pleasure to tell with much flair all their new experiences and grand adventures.

On April 3, LMOTC participated in the Frankfort Avenue Business Association’s annual Easter Parade. The parade, in its 18^th year of providing family-friendly entertainment, is open to the public and welcomes community members to join the fun by decorating vehicles, wagons, strollers, etc and walk along as actual parade participants.

We are very excited to present you with our May edition of the newsletter.

This month we’re happy to introduce our Book Corner, a new section that will periodically review books, CD’s, and DVD’s that are available in our club library.

Please remember, we are always looking for new ideas on articles, topics of interest, etc, so don’t hesitate to contact us if there’s something you would like to see in the newsletter.

April Meeting A Chance to Connect

At the April meeting, members gathered into small groups to talk about things pertinent to their twins’ age groups. There were two groups: infants and toddlers. In the infant group, subjects including breastfeeding and solid foods were discussed. In the toddler group, potty training and discipline were the primary topics. After the small groups met, all of the members regrouped and a range of issues were covered including potty training, baby proofing and traveling with your twins.. Finally, special congratulations to Ginette Allen for winning this month's meeting door prize: a gift card to Applebees!

Big Sister/Little Sister Program

Have you filled out your Big Sister or Little Sister questionnaire yet?

Last year, LMOTC started the Big Sister/Little Sister program, which pairs an established member with a new member in her pregnancy or with young babies. Big sisters and little sisters are matched up based on similar situations (same sexing of twins, stay at home vs. working moms, hobbies and outside interests, etc.). The program is designed to provide a resource for new MoMs adjusting to their exciting new life. It will serve to introduce new members to the club, its members and services available to them.
